I’ve recently been having a baking kick – check out my fun carrot oat banana walnut recipe I recently posted. The recipe is almost completely vegan with the exception of an egg, which made me think about potential egg substitutions.
While I’ve heard applesauce and tofu can act as decent substitutes, I found the best one to be a “flax egg.” Using flaxseeds is a simple, creative way and I think it yields a great end product. The gooey consistency of hydrated flaxseeds is very similar to an egg’s texture, which is why it works. Find the easy swap below!
